The AI Queens* of Bonn
The Sustainable AI Lab at the University of Bonn is starting a new lecture series: The AI Queens* of Bonn. These events are meant to offer anyone from the Bonn area, who feels underrepresented in AI practice, research, or education, a space to connect and share their experience.
Every quartile, we will invite another guest speaker to share some insights about work or research on artificial intelligence.

Dr Marlene Wessels: "Human Audiovisual Perception of Robots: A Psychological Perspective on Human-AI Interaction"

On October 28th the third AI Queens of Bonn lecture is taking place.
Marlene Wessels is a postdoctoral researcher in the Human Factors and Engineering Psychology group at the University of Mainz. She completed her PhD in Psychology on pedestrians’ audiovisual perception of accelerating vehicles and now focuses on human-robot interaction, while maintaining a strong interest in human audiovisual perception in the context of emerging technologies. Her research aims to deepen the understanding of fundamental perceptual processes in human-machine interaction, supporting human-centered design of innovations that are tailored to human capabilities and needs.
When?
Doors open at 19h15, the lecture and Q&A go from 19h30 until 20h00, and the reception ends at 21h30.
Where?
At the University of Bonn's Institut für Wissenschaft und Ethik (IWE) at the Bonner Talweg 57.
Who?
Everyone who is interested in both AI and diversity is welcome, regardless of your gender or professional background.
Attendance is free of charge, but do make sure to register beforehand.
